CNC Multi-Axis Turning Centers
OEP's multi-axis turning centers include two very different machines: The Mori Seiki NL2000SY, and the Emco-Maier.
The Mori Seiki is a very large, robust machine with live tooling and subspindle, capable of machining very large, complex parts in one operation from tough materials.
The Emco-Maier is a twin-spindle machine with subspindles and live tooling. The magazine bar feed runs two bars into the machine simultaneously, doubling productivity. This machine can also produce complex parts in one operation, but the maximum size is smaller, and it's a quicker lighter-duty machine, built more for speed over long runs.
The Mori Seiki runs all alloys of stainless, alloy steel, aluminum, brass, and bronze, as well as thermoplastics. Typical quantities run from 25 or 50 pieces up to a few thousand pieces.
The Emco-Maier usually runs brass, 2011 aluminum, 303 or Carpenter alloy 20 stainless steel, 12L14 steel, or some similarly free-machining material, and usually in large quantities. Typical quantities are from 1000 pieces into the hundreds of thousands of pieces.
Examples of parts run on these turning centers can be found in our Image Gallery.
